Turned out nice again

Aug 6, 2009

It rained here in the UK for most of July. I’m unconvinced that “Global warming” as defined by scientists in the pay of various Governments is such a sure thing as they claim. Their “computer models” make huge assumptions that industry and pollution is always going to increase. The planet’s weather has always been in a state of flux but you can only see trends in climate change when you look at data over periods of hundreds of years.  Mankind’s actions over the last 10 or 20 years cannot have set in motion the end of the world as we know it and changed our future climate for centuries to come. Many believe that the sudden Government obsession with CO2 is just a new way of controlling and taxing people.  How does my local Supermarket charging me for carrier bags “save the planet” ??  Can we even afford to go “green” ??  If everyone is forced into electric vehicles won’t the price of electricity rocket even further upwards ?  Variations in the Sun’s temperature is far more likely to account for shrinking/increasing ice at the poles and changes to ocean currents and the Gulf Stream. (Although I’m not saying it wouldn’t be a good idea for us to stop polluting the oceans with oil and effluent.)

Here is an article about the Geologist Ian Plimer’s view  on this contentious subject.

TV21 no 46

When I bought the December 2065 issue (???) of TV C21 in December 1965 the scientists of the time were predicting that we were heading for another ice age!!

Put your technical head on and visit wattsupwiththat where you’ll find some scientists with really detailed analysis of what may or may not be happening to our climate.
