It’s hard to believe that this photograph is over 90 years old.

And here and now in 2019 engineers at Singapore’s Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Division (!?!) have put online for free new software that is clever enough to add colour to black and white photographs. Just head to colourise.sg .It can sort out skintone but can only take a guess at the colours of clothes and cars. I’ve just colourised a stack of my mother’s old photos. She was quite pleased with the results but puzzled why her 1966 Mini car was now green rather than bright red!
