Fireball XL5

My very first introduction to science fiction and the concept of aliens and other planets was in 1962 with Gerry and Sylvia Anderson’s Fireball XL5. Set in the year 2062 in glorious black and white it featured Steve Zodiac, Venus, Professor Matthew Mattic, Robert the Robot and not forgetting Zoonie the Lazoon. There were only 39 episodes that have just come round once again on saturday afternoons on Talking Pictures TV. And affectionate pastiches appear on UToob.
