They have used pop songs within movies and TV adverts forever however more recently some unexpected (to me) stuff has appeared in unexpected places. Gimme Danger by Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, Chumbawamba and even Perry Como in season 1 of the Doom Patrol and Irma Thomas singing Time Is On My Side within Star Trek: Picard for example.

I’ve been watching this Canadian TV show. It can’t make its mind up if it is a drama or a comedy. What I do like is the music played through the episodes of season 1. (Although I would have gone for Toe Fat’s version of Bad Side of the Moon rather than April Wine’s lesser version). Did you know that song was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin??
