One of my favourite Batman stories appeared in this comic cover dated October 1986 and written by Harlan Ellison. Why isn’t this issue held in higher regard? The previous issue is expensive (due to its iconic cover), but this cover isn’t bad. 

Bruce has spent many years going on nightly patrol. He craves the excitement. He expects to find some evil-doers that he can bring to justice. But on this night, whatever events unfold, his services are not needed. When he can’t even get someone for littering he gives up and goes home.
