Hot in Cleveland Comic

Season 5 episode 18 of Hot in Cleveland was even more bonkers than the previous 95 episodes. Melanie, Joy and Victoria enter Elka’s house for the first time and find it is a portal to a cartoon reality. They all become cartoon characters. Mamie-Sue becomes a Zombie. Just a usual episode really! A limited edition comic book was created based on that episode.

There’s a new updated series of the classic 1990s TV show Frasier this year. But will it be any good without the comedy talents of Niles and Daphne. I’m currently enjoying a box set this series where Jane has a prominent role. I know I can stream it but I prefer no ads and all the “extras” you get with the discs. In fact I’m just starting to watch the whole series all over again because I couldn’t believe it the first time round. It’s that good. The whole cast and supporting actors (many famous and now extremely old-looking faces appear) are all at the top of their game and having fun with the plots and scripts.

Rachel Sweet was very young when she started out and an unlikely act to be taken on by Stiff records you would have thought. She had a few near-hits in the UK often with cover versions. She sang “Girls just want to have fun” on the Barbie cartoon show. She did a pretty good version of the VU’s “New Age”. She could rock too as seen at this live concert from 1980. She later moved from music into TV and was a producer (and sometimes writer) on a number of episodes of one of my favourite sitcoms Hot in Cleveland (and other shows before and after).
